    Description

2013 FRN BLANKET IMPRESSION ERROR PRINTED 6/9/16 - AU!! Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
From the BEP who examined the note at the ANA in Chicago in August.
"A blanket impression of this type occurs at BEP when a sheet, or a portion of the sheet in this case, is not present between the plate and the impression cylinder blanket on the intaglio press.  When a paper sheet, or portion of the sheet, is not present the plate image is printed straight to the blanket.  If that image printed on the blanket is not cleared the image will transfer from the blanket to the reverse side of the sheet as well as the correct image on the front.  Based on the picture and note I saw, a folded sheet likely went through the press right before the sheet that had this note.
The note came from process Phil 01CA was ran in LEPE (printing the seals and serial numbers on the face of the note) 6/9/16.  This process had high spoilage and this note/sheet likely slipped through.  Thank you for sharing this defective note with me."

    ADDITIONAL AUTHENTICATION
From Michael Domarasky at the BEP
"Len explained it perfectly with it being a folded or partial missing sheet causing the blanket impression.  A blanket impression will usually wear off in about 8 impressions.  It looks like that there would be blanket impression on 13 other note locations (D3, E3, F3, G3, H3, A4, B4, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4 and H4).  So there could be about 104 with full and partial blanket impression on them."
