    Description

    Fred Weinberg
, your key source for exceptional
    Major Mint Errors
    has the
    world's largest
    and
    most comprehensive
selection of United States major mint error coins for purchase.
You are bidding on a Gem 2003 Federal Reserve Note
with a stuck last digit in the upper right serial number.
The “3” is almost halfway turned down and stuck in that position.
    From Fred Bart’s newest 4
    th
Edition of Unites States Paper Money Errors,
he discusses stuck digits on page 223 & 224.
    Quoting from Fred Bart’s book:
“Both the stuck digit and partially turned digit result from a
clogging of the numbering wheel on the cylinder that imprints
the serial number.  If the wheel freezes into place in a particular
position, each successive note will appear identical.  If, however,
the wheel initially locks into place to pint a partially turned
digit and later advances just slightly a stuck digit might result.
These are mechanical malfunctions which arise during a printing
run and generally do not result during the press set-up.
Stuck digits are of a rarity comparable to the more popular
mismatched serial numbers. As such, they remain underpriced
in the marketplace to their actual scarcity”.
The Note is authenticated and graded as
Gem New 66 PPQ by PCGS Currency.
