Tibetan Hat with Stones, Beads, and Cowrie Shells

Hat with Beads and Stones
I was told this hat is Tibetan. It has stones
and beads in the colors of semi-precious
stones such as coral, turquoise,
lapis lazuli,
and others, but the actual
makeup of the stones
and beads is
unknown. The hat is also decorated
with cowrie shells.
Quite a bit of work went into the making of this hat.
In addition to the beading, there are embellishments
that have stones in the colors of turquoise, coral
and dark blue. The silver content of the settings
is unknown.The silver colored beads have quite
a bit of tarnish/corrosion. Please refer to the photos.
It's basically a pillbox shape except that
the top is somewhat domed and has an
embellishment that rises to a point.
The hat is about 21" in circumference on the inside
with a diameter of about 6.5".
The height of the hat is about 5.5".
It's lined on the inside with a dark fabric.
Overall, it's very decorative and quite a
conversation piece, probably even more
so if you are actually bold enough to
wear it.
