Description
WWII German Mauser M1884/98 Bayonet with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked "7199" over "p" on one side and on the other side is "42cof" which stands for Carl Eickhorn 1942. The wood grips are solid with scratches and nicks, one side is worse than the other. The blade is straight, has not been sharpened, the tip is sharp, and the finish looks nice on both sides. The pommel has double Waffenamt marks "WaA519". Lock button is functional. The scabbard has matching numbers to the bayonet "7199" over "p" on one side and on the backside is "42cof". The scabbard is solid with one dent on the backside,
the ball finial has matching Waffenamt mark, has minor surface rust spots throughout,
the frog stud has been broken off and is gone. Length of the blade measures 9 7/8" (1" wide x 3/16" thick spine), length of the bayonet is 15 1/8", and overall in the scabbard it is 15 15/16".
